8TH GRADE HISTORY: ANCIENT TO MODERN WORLD HISTORY
CLASS OVERVIEW:
The 8th Grade History class will cover the ancient to the modern period focusing on major worldviews and the development of civilizations throughout history. The backbone of the class will be the biblical narrative and worldview, and applying this to understanding how history has unfolded. We will learn how the war between good and evil has played itself out in the lives of individuals, civilizations, and cultures (including our own). We will learn that there is a flow to history and that this flow is rooted in the ideas of men and the sovereignty of God. The ultimate goal of the class is to apply what we have learned to our own lives. By God’s grace we will be challenged to critically examine our own beliefs and consequently become more conscious and consistent in our beliefs, desires, and actions.
